for the homeless youth
WHAT DO WE DO?
Our social project takes place in a library-café located in Mumbai (India) where all the young staff who works there are homeless people. The café works on 4 core ideas:
NOBLE WORK
Our youth earn an honest salary and work for appropriate working hours. Gender equality is guaranteed in our workplace and their basic needs of food, accommodation and health are taken care of.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
- Training skills for practical experience related to hospitality are given to the youth.
- Sponsoring educational activities or training courses as per their curiosity and interest levels and they adjust their working hours to balance their work and studies.
- Free classes are given to the uneducated children and/or to the street children
ACCOMODATION FOR THE HOMELESS YOUTH
During their stay in our Project, they are guaranteed a decent home through shared apartments while guiding them for self-management, personal care and hygiene. This way they are like a large family.
FOOD FOR THE UNDERNOURISHED CHILDREN
Free meals are offered to the street children or slum children who show up at and stop by the café.

The dream of owning a house is still a distant dream for many. For this reason, Bombay to Barcelona Library Cafe has undertaken the initiative of finding a place which they can call home, and support them in their financial and legal requirements.
